Our Why
Why This Matters
Every year in the UK, approximately 5,000 people die by suicide; that’s one person every two hours. Behind each statistic is a person, a family, and a community forever changed. In Hampshire:
15%
Suicide rates have increased by 15% in the past five years
3X
Men are three times more likely to die by suicide than women
18-25
Young people aged 18-25 are particularly vulnerable
The Baton of Hope event creates space for crucial conversations that save lives and build lasting networks of support in communities like ours.
